Chabad is now part of the undergoing continuous expansion of Sunny Beach, a major seaside resort on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, which attracts many Jews.
This is the second summer that Rabbi Yosef Solomon is opening a summer-time Chabad House Burgas-Sunny Beach in the country’s biggest holiday resort.
With over 800 hotels (offering 300,000 beds), 130 restaurants and numerous cafes and bars, approximately 7000 Israelis and a few more thousand Jews flock to these beaches.
Solomon, assisted by a 6 Chabad bochrim, offers the vacationers to put on Tefillin (several hundred a day agree), attend a minyan or Torah class and learn about the Jewish heritage.
His major draw is the restaurant “Misedet Habayit shel Chabad,” a hotspot which blends fine kosher food, warm atmosphere and a hangout for members of the tribe.
On Shabbos, meals are held in three different locations to keep up with the high demand.
The activities are being supported by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and his brother Rabbi Mendel Kotlarsky.
