Hundreds of women are lacing up their sneakers for Chesed 24/7’s long-awaited RUN 24.7 in American Dream, on February 11. The event is dubbed “5K Your Way,” because participants can either run or walk through the mall’s corridors. As a women-only 5K, RUN 24.7 is a rare event for women in our community.
RUN 24.7 will raise funds for the organization’s hospitality rooms in 24 hospitals. As per the campaign tagline, the event will “Keep Our Rooms Running” and help stock the rooms with kosher meals, snacks, coffee, and everything else a person could need – from reading material and phone chargers to Yom Tov essentials like arbah minim, shofars, and Shemurah matzah.
The Chabad community has formed the “Chabad Girls Team,” and has arranged for a special reduced fundraising goal of $900; a $300 discount. The team is hosted by Miriam Weiss, Miriam Friedfertig, Mushky Avtzon, Shterny Chein, Devorah Buket, Chani Bonny Hecht, Rivka Krinsky, Chaya Roitblatt, Gitty Rapaport, Rochie Korolitzky, Sterna Steinmetz, Rivky Torenheim, and Sara Guige. We invite women and girls to join what promises to be a phenomenally-fun event, with great swag, an after-run party, singers, entertainment, and much more.
