Chabad Girls Academy and Sparks High School teamed up for their second inter-school event. Yud Shvat is the perfect day to mark this joint program, being that one of the mitzvos that the Rebbe embodied is Ahavas Yisrael.
The girls were warmly welcomed into the Sparks Academy school building. After enjoying a delicious and beautiful breakfast spread, all the girls from both schools watched a Rebbe video about Yud Shevat and the Rebbe’s inyonim.
Following the inspiring video, the girls teamed up in groups and were given information on the history behind each of the Rebbe’s Ten Mivtzoim.
Armed with this new knowledge, the groups made visual posters about the mivtzoim! They worked together in the most heartwarming way, re-learning the material and mapping it out on poster boards. Each group documented one mivtza and expanded upon it, focusing on how that mivtza is done and retelling a story of how lives were saved through each mivtzah.
The presentations were followed by a special guest speaker, Bryna Horovitz. Bryna spoke about her personal mivtzoim encounters, the importance of mivtzoim, and how to do them in a practical manner. Ha Ma’ase Hu Haikar! She encouraged the girls to connect to their inner spark and use their G-d given talents and share their spark with others, by doing Mivzoim. Words that come from the heart enter the heart. Bryna’s words did just that!
The uplifting words were so poignant and left the girls feeling very moved, inspired to put them into action. The day was full of chayus, warmth, and inspiration, something that would surely give the Rebbe much nachas.
