Camp Gan Israel in Detroit has announced 2 changes in the camp as they prepare for the upcoming summer season 2021.
With the boys camp having 2 full sessions, the entire boys camp, including BMD, will be moved to a new larger location for the entire duration of the summer, the directors announced.
This will prevent them from having to move during the summer, they said.
While the location has not been determined yet, the directors are currently looking at a few different state-of-the-art, beautiful, locations in Northern Michigan that can accommodate the growing camp for the full 8 weeks.
The camp will now take place on different dates than were previously announced.
New dates:
First session: Tuesday, June 22 (12 Tammuz) – Tuesday, July 20 (11 Av)
Second session: Tuesday, July 20 (11 Av) – Monday, Aug. 16 (8 Elul)

The second change concerns the girls teen camp division, which has seen unprecedented high enrollment, directors Levi and Chanee Raichik said.
“Since registration opened for this summer, we saw that there is no way we will be able to accept even half of the girls that enrolled,” they said.
“We dread having to turn away so many girls. So we came up with the only solution that will enable us to accommodate the demand.”
Therefore, Teen Camp will take place in the second month, and will take place in the entire Camp Gan Israel campgrounds, and will allow them to accept many more girls.
The main camp during the first month will expand as well, with CIT’s enjoying their own program in the location where Teen Camp would have been, allowing for both divisions to accept more campers.
The new dates are July 28 – August 23. These dates might change by a day or two as they coordinate with other camps and schools, directors said.
