The Executive Board of Chevra Hatzalah has issued a warning to the Orthodox Jewish communities regarding an uptick in coronavirus cases.
In a letter to the Jewish communities, Hatzalah says that in the last few weeks they have seen an uptick in COVID 19 cases, some with “severe symptoms as well as hospitalizations and ICU admissions.”
They warn that if people are not careful, we can possibly see a “deadly resurgence,” they said.
They also warn people not “make any assumptions about the virus.”
“Don’t assume that if you have recovered already, or have antibodies, that you won’t pass it on to others (or possibly even get sick again),” they warn.
The following is the full text of the letter:
We want to advise you that over the last few weeks, and especially during the previous few days, we have seen an increase in COVID-19 cases. While B”H many of the cases appear to be relatively minor, there have been an increase in cases with more severe symptoms as well as hospitalizations and ICU admissions.
With the summer coming to a close and people returning from vacation, as well as the hopeful start of the school year and upcoming Yomim Tovim, we would like to remind everyone of the following:
NOW IS THE TIME TO BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS!
If we aren’t extremely strict and careful with following the
recommendations of the CDC, State and Local Governments, and other healthcare professionals, we can c”v see a deadly resurgence. There has been enough death and suffering in our community from COVID-19. We must do our part to prevent the spread and to help keep the vulnerable people in our community safe.
We want to remind you:
• Follow recommended social distancing precautions.
• WEAR A MASK in cases where strict social distancing cannot be practiced.
• Large gatherings of any kind must be avoided.
• Do not make any assumptions about the virus. While much has been learned about the virus, there are still many unknowns. Don’t assume that if you have recovered already, or have antibodies, that you won’t pass it on to others (or possibly even get sick again). The data is incomplete. We do not want to take any chances with our families and friends!
If you are feeling sick: STAY HOME and consult your doctor if you have any medical questions. Don’t forget to eat and drink regularly to prevent dehydration. In the event of an emergency, call Hatzalah.
We implore you to remain committed to the safe-practices listed above. With Hashem’s help we will get through this together as a community.
We wish you a K’siva V’chasima Tova.

Rabbi’s & Doctor’s what’s going to be with 770?
No one is wearing masks or keeping social distancing.
i heard anash in israel r coming tishri
When will people protect themselves with zinc and ionosphere?
Please follow the Zelenko protocol to save lives.
zinc ionophore. Like quercetin or hcq.
I love how 770 is packed these days with noone wearing masks. So smart
Only going to get worse as the Tishrei guests arrive. Very sad and crazy
How everyone knows how to blame 770 but no one will blame the 16 people who got it from a single wedding in b.p. recently.
Our community has to be proactive (as we were initially). People coming back from vacation, especially from out of state should quarantine somewhat. Community events are back almost full swing. Our community should be flexible and strict when necessary – if cases are going up. And even seriously consider social distancing (staying inside for a week or so – every now and then) – as NEEDED. Otherwise we may not put 2 and 2 together and shake our heads and wonder how come cases are increasing again. Other places all over the world have seen resurgence when relaxing the rules,… Read more »
Our community behaves as if covid never even happened. Noone follows proper protocol.
It starts with 770, and other shuls will follow. Please doctors figure out a solution.
It is ridiculous that people think they can run their own show. Not fair to the people around you. You never know if you were/will be the reason someone died (by passing it on either symptomatically or asymptotically!).
Stop blaming for murder. Hashem runs the world. If a person is healthy you can’t blame him for living life.
Plenty of healthy people have gotten very sick and even died. How about the 29 year old woman who required a double lung transplant after Covid? And thousands more healthy people, some of them young.
Did you hear about the horrific car crash a few weeks ago? Chances are you did. And do you still ride in cars? Chances are you do. Why? Because the risk is so low. Young people have a very low risk of serious illness from COVID-19
I have been waiting in vain for an organization or a person in a leadership position in CH to find their backbone and to assuage the fear that paralyzes people’s senses. Both the Gedaliah Society and this Hatzalah letter is a repetitive script of fear mongering. “Stay home, mask, social distance etc etc.” Why not try the other tactic of what we should all do to boost our immune system before the fall season arrives? There is so much that we can, and should, all do! Daily vitamins such as vitamin c, zinc, quercetin, vitamin d. Anti inflammatory herbs and… Read more »
“Scripted trash” wow. You need an education. Herbs, LOL.
Stay home, mask, and social distance!
When will people learn whenthe epidemic first came out people were not wearing masksand not social distancing andso many s people passed , you think people would of learned by now but I seeso many people not wearing masks and they are close to each other

And frankincense from the Boswellia tree as well.
Today, on Arutz Sheva there is an article of a company that put together a natural medicine for COVID used as a spray under the tongue, and 2 hospitals who tried it had good things to say about it. This natural medicine is a combination of what the public knows to work : vitamin c, boswellia tree frankincense, artemusinin (an anti-inflammatory from a wormwood plant used against malaria,) and curcumin.
Yes, we can’t get our hands on this specific item, but we could use our noodles as well and buy individual items.
We don’t need to take anyone’s word for anything, anymore. Check it out yourself and see for yourself. Back in the day, we had Governmental AUTHORITY which decided that the earth is flat and the public was forced to accept what the so called “experts” say, even if they said the earth is flat. Do Masks REALLY work? Or is it only Seudoscience or Junk Science, which has never ever, really been scientifically proven? You don’t know whom to believe? The days of “the Flat Earth’ers” are over. Don’t take anyone’s word for it. Check it out for yourself. Get… Read more »
What planet are you living on? People that go unmasked are not social distancing. They don’t care about the pandemic.
My fellow crown heights residents, whom do you call g-d forbid when a family member has a serious illness, a heart attack, stroke etc lo aleinu? Our local doctors, that’s who. Our rofim yedidim. Those we trust to help us make life and death decisions. Those who were entrusted by Hashem to help us heal. All of a sudden, every person regardless of their training experience and knowledge has become an expert. Why? Because they got a totally reliable whatsap message about some person from who knows where. Please people our doctors (Dr Rosen for sure) have been dealing with… Read more »
Listen to our doctors please!
A bakashas nafshi
The risk of COVID-19 is very low for healthy adults and children so stop the fear mongering. Just social distance wear masks when can’t social distance and protect the vulnerable- that’s it.
You are right. If people would just be normal, social distance and wear masks and protect the vulnerable, we would be doing the rational thing. That’s all we should do. But the trouble is almost no one is doing any of that, right?
How come guests are allowed in C.H. this Tishrei? This is not safe. Why are we being so lax about these issues??? Read the news
about virus spreading in other parts of the world where they relaxed their guard.
And to those who say it’s “nothing” much – as Jews we’re not supposed to have
this uncaring attitude to human life and sickness (chas v shalom).
