Mrs. Ray Schildkraut, a beloved teacher for over 60 years, has been nominated in the “Teachers make a difference every day” contest, by her second grade class in Bais Rivkah.
The contest, which states it is “celebrating teachers who impact our lives in special ways every day,” runs until tomorrow, May 7, 2018.

I was about 5 or 6 years old…. Mrs. Shildkraut who lived nearby just had come to visit and chat with my mother. I remember how she asked me if I like to read and then picked up one of the children’s books we had and sat down to listen to me read… 53 years later and I will never forget how she was so genuinely interested and then with her trademark genuine smile and cheerful voice she exclaimed to my mother: Wow – this girl reads so beautifully!… Thank you dearest Mrs. Shildkraut, for a precious memory of childhood… Read more »
I’m over thirty years old and dont remember any grade in school as I do second grade with Mrs. Schildkraut! The songs she taught us, the poems we had to memorize, the birthday pinches, the chicken dance…- may she be blessed with many years of long healthy happy life and success!
