This artist scammed me for $400.00 when I bought a painting from him at a kinus and he never sent it to me. Phone calls, etc did bring results. Potential buyers beware!!

To #3 and to # 4, respectively. The picture does not represent so much a memory, but rather a soothing and hopeful picture of what the short term will bring with the coming of Moshiach and techias a mesim. So proyecting this in a painting with hassidim, rebeeim, talmidim, (and aour avos would also be beatiful in a paintain) is true beauty. To #4 You reflect a somewhat short sighted and limited mentality as to the more profound meaning behind such a paiting. I can guarantee you that because of all the bitul hametzius , yet tremendous ahav israel that… Read more »

March 12, 2009 4:17 pm

It would open up more shidduch options for my family?
Is their an Ezras Nashim coming? Cause I can settle for that?
Would be a great way to allow our Baalei Teshuvas’ a chance in the Gehza fold of society!!!

Carl Braude lives in 368 Wobbenstrasse in Vienna Austria
you can check him out online…
Do you even know what you are talking about????
Carl Braude has exhibitions all over Europe.

a true "NON" work of art
March 12, 2009 2:44 pm

How many of those “eltereh chassidim” were alive during the time of the Alter Rebbe, The Mittele Rebbe, Tzemach Tzedek, the Maharash, etc. etc.????
Do you think that if they were in the daled amos of such holy tzaddikim they pose for a picture right in front of them?
It is a very detailed portrait of facial likeness, but not in any way a “work of art”!

I feel its important to bring to everyone’s attention, that allegedly there is no painter by the name of Carl Braude, and that after extensive research, I tracked these so called paintings to a Satmara Chosid in London by the name of Beirish Lev, who has these “paintings” made in China with a special technique, and had a wealthy Crown Heights Gevir purchase the so called originals. This is one of many of such paintings that has been selling in the crown heights stores for the past ten years, some of them know as the “Lubavitch Dynasty” and the “Geulah… Read more »

That is exactly what i’m indicating. I’m saying that I appreciate this painting for it’s beauty, and i’m saying that i’m sure if the Rebbe was here with us now, and He knew that this painting helped even one Jew, one Jew because that was what the Rebbe lived for, every one Jew. Then I think he would prefer you all kept your opinions to yourselves. How old are you? Old enough to remember the Rebbe properly? Because i’m not. I’m lucky enough to have one visit with the Rebbe, pictures that I don’t even remember, that’s it. I didn’t… Read more »

Are you indicating that what this artist is doing is “ensuring the the Rebbeim’s presence stay alive” and that it is “educating the next generation”? If so, you are grotesquely wrong! On the contrary, the more you put a “face” on something spiritual, the LESS it becomes. (There are enough real pictures of the Rebbe to derive inspiration from.) Don’t assume that people are attacking because they are jealous. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO PROTEST, however big or small the problem may seem. You would fit in perfectly with the Eirev Rav in the desert.… Read more »

Unbelievable
March 12, 2009 10:51 am

All of you negative commentators, what are you doing to ensure the Rebbeim’s presence stay alive? What are you doing to try and give over and educate as much as possible to the next generation? The painting is beautiful. Under your thinly veiled insults, I sense a hint of jealousy, and a large amount of pride. Someone else did something, that you can’t do and it’s new, and not necessarily something you would think of. It’s different. So you attack – using the Rebbe as your shield. If you were that worried about the Rebbe, you would show major Ahavas… Read more »

Keep it to yourself
March 12, 2009 10:31 am

The artist should keep this picture to himself. Depicting the face and actions of Tzaddikim in an imaginary manner is a disgrace.

To #18: If you want chizuk/inspiration that Moshiach is coming, learn the Sichos of the Rebbe. These pictures should NOT be your medium.

wow
March 12, 2009 9:38 am

Is it a Purim addition or it is for real? The commments are to be given as bonus gift with the picture. They are of much more value the this monumental artwork.Could be a great fundraiser if for a nice donation you could have your relatives painted in somewhere on the loan or further away/depending on the amount of the contribution/

INSPIRING
March 12, 2009 5:05 am

I don’t either now what the problem is…
How else would the artist be able to place the faces of the chassidim if they don’t face the audience.
I think this painting is extremely inspiring!
Is the original available? And what is the original size?

Nutters
March 12, 2009 3:37 am

Such idiotic hotheads. calm down! No-one is standing in front of the Rebbe, their at the side in front. Some people always have to grump!

Cartoon characters
March 12, 2009 3:00 am

Why have people become indifferent to seeing the Rebbe and the Rebbeim preceding him turned into cartoon characters, to be place by the cartoonists imagination in settings that are conjured up in his brain?

Chasidim should appreciate some dignity concerning the Rebbeim.

What a Picture
March 12, 2009 2:32 am

The Rebbe, in a blue robe, looks like he was just released from Beth Israel. Needs help to walk from the Alte Reb, The Friedike Rebbe financed the stay, and the Tzamach Tzedek is the doctor with the medical records. Chadakov owns the hospital.

Reb Eli Chaim Althaus
March 12, 2009 12:42 am

it appears that behind Reb Mendel Futerfas is Reb Eli-Chaim Althaus.Across on the front left is Reb Pinye Althaus

Well-intentioned but Clueless Artist
March 11, 2009 6:31 pm

The idea is good, execution terrible.
The problems abound, as mentioned in the previous post. In addition, not only would Reb Mendel Futerfas, for example, never pose smiling for a picture, he certainly would not do so in the presence of the Rebbe.

Sorry, but I can’t imagine any clued-in chasid hanging this painting in the house. If it was just of the chasidim that would be very cool….

Think about it
March 11, 2009 4:12 pm

These great chassidim shown with their backs to the Rebbes would be horrified by this painting! What did they do to deserve this?!

Yes, he should make one in the zoo, because he already made one in the park. I think it was his first picture.

Do you think?
March 11, 2009 2:11 pm

Do you think the Rebbe would stand, center stage, while his shver, the Rebbe, Nasi Doreinu, stands off on the side next to the Razah? Or that he would allow his father rebe Leivik, to stand behind the door? And Smile brightly while he’s doing this??
I wonder whether the artist is a meshichist, or just plain clueless?

His pictures are disrepectful
March 11, 2009 2:02 pm

Can we have a picture of the Rebbes visiting the zoo, this way when our children visit the zoo they will remember how the rebbeim looked when they went there.
Give me a break!
