A New York man is in custody, suspected of driving under the influence, after he was involved in a wild crash while coming off of the Manhattan Bridge, WABC reported.
The driver was coming from Brooklyn into Lower Manhattan at around 9:00 PM on Wednesday on Canal and Bowery streets in Chinatown.
Instead of turning, the person crashed into the median and then flew into trees, a street sign, parked cars, and ended up slamming into a NYPD Auxiliary police car and a Mitzvah Tank.
The driver and another person suffered injuries, the station reported. The people who were in the mobile home, spreading the message of Chanukah, were bochurim from Oholei Torah Mesivta Yeshiva in Crown Heights. They were unharmed.
“The fact that he made it across Bowery and did not hit a pedestrian or two, well that’s more than just good fortune,” reporter Joe Torres pointed out.
The driver was taken into police custody on suspicion of DWI.

can everyone stop screaming??!!
#1if it’s not the driver’s fault then whose fault is it and who’s responsible for this ?
What a bunch of miracles!!! and so cool how the reporter calls the RV a Mitzvah Tank 🙂
“right into a MITZVAH TANK”
no need to explain..
yofutzu mayonosecho chutzha!!
“mitzvah tank” is a word in the English language.
Moshiach can come already!!!
Probably don’t want to invite the driver o the car into the Mitzvah tank for L’Chaim
Love how “mitzvah tank” is part of the natural NY lexicon!!
Kol hakavod “ozov tazov imo” you did the right thing by helping with what you can and not just bypassing and looking and driving off
…how he is standing at the most dangerous intersection in NY with no fear!!
No one said it was the Mitzvah tanks drivers fault. They arrested the car driver for DWI. Another Chanukah Miracle! No one got hurt.
The driver of the tank
NOT THE MITZVAH TANKS DRIVER’S FAULT!!!
Which driver, the car?
my mitzvah tank was driving by and we saw it happen so we took on our tank tankisten from the crashed tank back to Crown Heights
NOT DRIVERS FAULT AT ALL!!!
