Over 500 people responded to last week’s COLlive article offering food assistance for families this Tishrei. There were so many requests, and there are still so many families who need help. Over 30% of the requests were from single mothers. Others are facing a multitude of challenges including job loss, medical bills and health issues.
Can you say yes to them?
These are some of their stories.

“I am a single mother of four children. Unfortunately, I am not receiving child support, although I work, my salary doesn’t cover anything beyond the basic monthly expenses. Any help for Tishrei would be greatly appreciated. My children have been through a lot these last few years, and it would be nice to be able to celebrate Yom Tov like a mentch with them.”
“My husband was recently laid off from his work, and he is looking for a job. My salary doesn’t cover much, and we are struggling to manage. We, Kah, have 6 children and could use help with the basics, challah, wine, grape juice, chicken etc…Thank you so much!”
“We are a family of 10- (8 kids between the ages of 6-21 bh!) Any assistance over Tishrei would be so helpful! Thank you! Tizku L’mitzvos.”
“My husband has been ill and has been in and out of the hospital receiving treatment. Our financial situation is tough at the moment. We bh have a large family and two married kids staying with us for Yom Tov. Any help will be so appreciated!”
“ I am a divorced mother of two teens. Please help us with food for Rosh Hashana and Succos.”
“My husband and I are in our eighties, and we have serious financial struggles. We have some physical issues as well, which makes life more challenging. Please help us with food for Yom Tov.”
“We have seven children, Kah, and some medical expenses that have depleted our income. Please let us know if there is anything you can help us with for Yom Tov! Thank you so much for this incredible Chessed.”
