By Camp Pardas Chanah:
There is power in the air when you gather over 250 campers and staff in one room. It’s as if the energy of camp comes alive again, filling the space with joy and excitement. That’s exactly what happened at the Pardas Chanah Hakhel Reunion – which took place on Chai Shevat.
As soon as our excited campers, waitresses, and staff arrived, it was clear that we were all home again. The joy of meeting old camp friends and counselors was evident on everyone’s faces. It was as if we had never left camp – the camaraderie, the laughter, and the memories, all came flooding back.
Our superb head staff group prepared diligently and our head counselors, Chassi Mochkin, Mushka Pinson, Mushkie Schmukler and Basie Zalmanov, led our campers with a beautifully prepared program.
Each camper was greeted with a special Pardas Chanah Swag bag filled with snacks, a PC pen, and activity papers. As the evening progressed, we watched a camp video and cheered for our bunks as we spotted ourselves on screen. It was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and we couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and belonging as we looked back on our camp experiences.
The 12 Pesukim followed the video, with bunks of girls from the first and second sessions leading a Pasuk. Then came the Hachlota Auction which focused on Hachlotos, such as Hiskashrus, Tznius, Davening, and Chitas. The campers eagerly chose their Hachlotos, and the lucky winners received special prizes, including jewelry, leather siddurim, a speaker, and Amazon gift cards.
The program ended with joyful singing and dancing, as we celebrated our time together and the bonds that we had rekindled. It was an evening filled with warmth, laughter, and love – just like the PC FAMILY always is.
Thank you to Rabbi and Mrs. Gurary for enabling and sponsoring the Hakhel Reunion gathering.
A special thank you to Rabbi Plotkin, Principal of Bais Chaya Mushka for allowing us to use the school and its amenities for this special event.
Bez”h we are embarking on a new Pardas Chanah development initiative. Phase 1, will include the renovation and restoration of some of our bunkhouses planned for the upcoming summer.
SAVE THE DATE: for the “Growing our Legacy” Crowdfunding campaign, which will take place for 72 hours from 19-21 ADAR – March 12-14.
