Camp Chaya has announced Leah Deren of Pittsburgh and Sara Thaler of Los Angeles as the head counselors for their inaugural summer.
Camp Chaya director Mrs. Calo Firtell is thrilled with the choice. “These two young women, with their shared track record of success wherever they’ve gone, are the perfect candidates to lead the revolutionary experience and unforgettable summer we envision at Camp Chaya.”
“We’re proud of our whole team,” said Chana Friedman, camp mashpia and director. “We handpicked this staff. We wanted girls who would be experienced, kind, approachable, supportive, attentive and of course a whole lot of fun.”
“We absolutely cannot wait for the first day of camp!” said head counselor Leah Deren. “We’re looking forward to days filled with learning and fun, nights filled with Farbrengens and song, and giving the campers of Camp Chaya a summer they’ll never forget!”
The camp located on a 140 acre ranch in the Western Pennsylvania mountains is for girls going into 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Planning and scheduling is in full swing. In addition to the countless on-site activities, Camp Chaya plans to take advantage of nearby attractions for field trips and outings.
Living up to its namesake, Chaya Spalter A”H, Camp Chaya is striving for a joyous environment where the Rebbe’s emphasis on Achdus is the driving force.
“Our program is built around a framework of three weeks of fun-infused Yiras Shomayim and Ahavas Yisrael,” explained head counselor Sara Thaler. “This will be the summer of a lifetime!”
