The “daughters” of Mrs. Gita Gansburg, hundreds of Machon Chana dorm alumnae from the past 38 years, are planning gatherings for the end of her shloshim. Alumnae who are in cities where a gathering has not yet been arranged are asked to call or text (917) 435-7701) or email [email protected] for help in organizing a gathering in their city.
The Shloshim, which occurs on Shabbos Hei Teves, will be marked by alumnae in communities around the world, on Motzei Shabbos Hei Teves (December 27).
In Crown Heights, the gathering will take place at the Machon Chana Dormitory at 1367 President Street, Mrs. Gansburg’s home for 38 years. Family members, alumnae and current students will speak.
A video on which alumnae relate short anecdotes or stories about Mrs. Gansburg is being prepared. Alumnae who would like to submit a 1 – 1 ½ minutes video or voice note are urged to do so immediately and to email it to [email protected]. The video will be shown at the Crown Heights Shloshim and will also be available for viewing at the Shloshim gatherings in other cities.
A booklet with excerpts from some of the hundreds of stories that Mrs. Gansburg’s family has been receiving since her passing is also being prepared and will be distributed at the gatherings.
The Crown Heights gathering will be live-streamed for those not able to attend.
The End of Shiva gathering that took place at the Machon Chana Dormitory was standing room only. Sharing words of comfort, thoughts or stories about Mrs. Gansburg were Rabbi Shloma Majeski, Rabbi Yossi Paltiel, Mrs. Nechama Chanin, Mrs. Basya Gold, Mrs. Sara Ogince and Mrs. Chaya Schwartz.
We hope and pray the dormitory is full of students together with the leadership of Rabbi Majeski.
Mrs Gansberg will continue to shine through us all with her wisdom.
Shluchos alone she made are in hundreds.
Her ‘daughters’ are in the thousands.
