“The Major Leagues” is on its way to becoming a classic Bar Mitzvah anthem, bursting with infectious joy and filled with meaning.
Composed by singer-songwriter California shliach Rabbi Yoey Muchnik in honor of his own son Mendel’s bar mitzvah, “The Major Leagues” conveys a strong message to the bar mitzvah boy that he is now “playing for points!” And that “every mitzvah counts!”
Many will recognize the theme as reminiscent of a well-documented conversation between the Rebbe and a bar mitzvah boy, using baseball as a mashul for the real game of life.
This song is sure to become the highlight of every bar (and bat!) mitzvah celebration, getting everyone jumping for joy while encouraging the bar mitzvah boy or bat mitzvah girl to “step up and take your stance, smash the ball as hard as you can,” and to do their special part to bring Moshiach now!
