It is a busy summer for Jewish Girls Unite (JGU), the global community empowering Jewish girls to become leaders, as it offers both virtual and in-person camp programming.
JGU is currently in the midst of both the Jewish Girls Retreat in Upstate New York, beloved since 2000, and Creative Online Camp on the virtual front for a second year.
Campers this summer are diving deeper into the meaning of daily Jewish prayers through discussion, journaling, games, creative arts, adventure, nature, and more.
This past Wednesday, the two camps joined together via Zoom video-conferencing to hold a talent show. Modern technology allowed for a smooth flow of events, lively engagement, and a literally global reach.
Participants hailed from New York, California, Virginia, Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin in the United States, to the country of Georgia overseas. Counselor Maital Ledder of Israel, who leads Creative Online Camp activities on Sundays, watched the playback.
“It is truly remarkable to see the girls confidently sharing their G-d given talents to uplift, inspire, encourage and teach others,” says COC Counselor Tzipporah Prottas.
Jewish Girls Unite anticipates more excitement unfolding soon.
Something major is happening, and the organization will be releasing more details this week.
Since 2014, Jewish Girls Unite has been at the forefront of empowering Jewish women and girls worldwide to celebrate their Judaism, participate in a loving community, and utilize their gifts to become leaders.
An outgrowth of the popular Jewish Girls Retreat, founded in 2000 by Rabbi Avraham and Nechama Laber in partnership with Leah Caras of Yaldah Magazine, today’s global online community utilizes creative approaches in education and technology to offer virtual Judaic classes, camp, extracurricular and Bat Mitzvah clubs, leadership development, coaching, women’s classes, retreats, publishing services, and more.
Eight successful weeks of Creative Online Camp in summer 2020 catalyzed the JGU Virtual Community with expanded social and educational programs.
