A building has collapsed on Avenue P and East 5th Street in Flatbush, after a vehicle slammed into it on Monday night.
The incident prompted a massive response from Hatzolah, FDNY and NYPD, just after 11:00PM.
After an extensive search, it appeared that there was no one trapped in the rubble as the building was unoccupied.
Despite the collapse, it appeared that all 4 occupants of the vehicle managed to run from the scene.
The driver was apprehended nearby thanks to volunteers from Flatbush Shomrim who quickly canvassed the area. They were assisted by Boro Park Shomrim as well. The NYPD has taken the driver into custody.
A search is ongoing for the remaining occupants of the vehicle.

Was it a stable building?
Apparently not…
Yes. Very.
Unless there was a car bomb, buildings don’t ordinarily collapse from a car collision, unless it’s a really huge truck and very small building, no matter how reckless the driver is! It must have been in very weak condition and thank G-d,
no one was inside too! Doesn’t seem like the driver or occupants were injured from the crash either, seems like unusual circumstance.

I woke up hearing helicopters hovering in the sky. It must be the media helicopters.
Car crashes can’t melt steel beams
Hm. Maybe a miracle in disguise. An unstable building. Due to collapse at a slight jostle. Regular occupants not inside. A car knocks it down. Problem solved.
