A thief was caught on camera walking off with packages from the front hallway of a building in Crown Heights – not once, but twice, in the same week.
On security footage from the front door and hallway of the building on Midwood Street, the thief can be seen using a rock to smash the window and break into the building. He is then seen walking away with a stack of packages.
The building management said he has stolen packages from this same location twice in one week.
The building manager said he filed a police report but said that “the officer told me that they won’t really do anything about it since no one was insured.”
The manager said he was disappointed by the response of the NYPD.
“The tenants should be able to feel safe and that the police are doing everything in their power to ensure their safety,” he said.

ironically one day (hopefully) someone catches him and beats him to within a inch of his life and then then there will be a police investigation *to find the vigilante*

Yes I live here and the first time it happened, I was out of town and heard about it from my neighbors. Put a bunch of empty boxes in lobby in clear view as bait and PAY someone to hide out of sight in the lobby. When this goniff enters have Shmira on speed dial to hold the thief until the police come. He’s probably become more brazen bc he’s gotten away with this 2 times . Yes a good beating – like in the good old Chaptzem days would do wonders !!!
