Two young Jewish children who frequent Chabad of Folsom in California have undergone an important -and brave- step to secure their heritage on Tuesday.
When their great-grandmother commented that her great grandchildren were not circumcised, Shliach Rabbi Yossi Grossbaum knew action needs to be taken.
Speaking with the family and the brothers themselves, ages 4 and 5, one of which learns in the local Chabad Hebrew School, a decision was made for the boys to have a bris.
Rabbi Grossbaum turned to Rabbi Yaron Amit, head of the Brit Yosef Yitzchak organization, a service that provides free circumcisions to any Jewish male in the world.
Aryeh Wuensch, an art dealer from Florida who supports the Bris organization, flew in as well to ensure that everything went smoothly.
The surgery was held in the medical offices of a Russian-speaking plastic surgeon who himself had gotten a Bris by Rabbi Amit.
The boys chose the names Avrohom Yehoshua and Yisroel, respectively. “Beezras Hashem they will continue learning Torah and living as yidden,” Rabbi Grossbaum said.
