The 15th of the month is a known as an ‘Eis Ratzon.’ Every month on this date, when the moon is at its fullest, the Rebbe would go to the Ohel.
To follow in the Rebbe’s spirit, girls and boys from Crown Heights and the surrounding neighborhoods gather at the Ohel on the 15th of each month for Torah, Tefillah and Tzedakah. The monthly rallies include fun games and entertainment as well.
“It is a very special time, and it is the only time I come to the Ohel when it’s not my birthday or a [chasiddishe] Yomtov,” said one participant.
One of the older boys has been coming every month for years, and says the visits really affect him. “I really try hard in school the days before – I bring my tests with good marks to give the Rebbe nachas,” he relates.
This month is very special, as it is Tu B’Shvat. For many years the Rebbe farbrenged on Tu B’Shvat, even if it came out during the week. The last weekday farbrengen we were zoche to hear was Tu B’Shvat 5748. In addition, one year the Rebbe sent special fruit for the children who attended the Tzivos Hashem rally.
The rally will be held on Motzei Shabbos, January 30. Buses leave 770 at 7:00
and return at 9:00
For all children ages 5-12
The rallies at Ohel were started by Mrs. Feige Duchman and Mrs. Rivkah Kotlarsky, together with the Shluchim Office, in memory of Hayeled Shlomo Aharon A”H ben Yisroel Sheyichye Hakohen, and they continue to head the program.
