Update from the Oirechman family:
Thank you for your prayers and support during this challenging time.
Shmuly had the surgery at 7:30 am this morning at Stein Eye Institute UCLA with his Dr . Steve Schwartz who once again had the Rebbe’s dollar in his pocket for the duration of the surgery.
The surgery took a little over two hours and was B”H a success.
The Dr. said the eye was very sick and it’s good we didn’t wait until after Pesach as he first suggested in our recent visit.
The Dr. removed scar tissues from the retina, stretched it, fixed it and replaced the oil around it with new oil.
Now Shmuly has to lie face down for two weeks.
We will have a follow up visit tomorrow and will get more details.
We greatly all your prayers and support.
