Learning has resumed at the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch at 770 Eastern Parkway as the month of Elul began.
But with some restrictions.
A sign hung up at the entrance of the small ‘zal’ upstairs notified that those who don’t have antibodies should not enter.
“In the hours that Rabbi Osdoba Shlita sits here, we ask that students without antibodies should not come in,” the sign read.
The sign is referring to Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba, the elder member of the Crown Heights Beis Din who has been serving as a maggid shiur and meishiv for many years in the Yeshiva.
In the most recent update, the Gedaliah Society and Dr. Eli Rosen reported a disturbing increase in the frequency of new cases of Covid-19 in Crown Heights.

People with antibodies can still spread the virus!
B”H
I thought the antibodies wear off after a while. Couldn’t people have had antibodies in nissan or iyar and now not have the antibodies? May Hashem bensh Rabbi Osdoba with good health and arichas yamim.
The test is not 100% accurate! This is still so risky! Can we please all just have some respect and CLOSE the place down a little longer? It might save even one life!
why don’t we just CLose the whole world forever?????
is anything 100% accurate?
how about all those that just came back from upstate and vacation?
antibodies last 4 months and dont fully define immunity. You can have immunity without showing antibodies since there are 3 components to the immune system and you can have innate immunity without having antibodies. The way to go is to test for those carrying the virus and insist on masks and social distancing. 770 is not safe. There are now quick saliva tests that give fast results that need to be marketed
actually they last 4.825427 months to be exact (87.2736% of statistics are made up on the spot)
This sign was not in zal. It was by his office….
The ONLY ways to stop people invading CH for Tishrei & potentially infecting others are Locals – DO NOT HOST. Refuse entry – with security guards to enforce it – to ALL visitors (that would include me as I don’t live there even though my children do) Shut down Eshel, Rubashkin’s hachnosas orchim rooms etc. If the community doesn’t take real action, you can expect infection from Israelis who just don’t care. They want to be in NY for Tishrei and what they want they will get. Israel had over 3,000 NEW cases in less than 24 hours, so you… Read more »
People inside school buildings should wear masks
Principals should enforce use of masks
Or virus will spread and everything will be shout down
There is almost no Israelis that I know that are coming in for tishrei only bouchrim that are going to stay for the year
