An electric fire in the Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim in the frum Israeli city of Bnei Brak, thankfully resulted in no injuries for the students that were sleeping.
The fire broke out on Thursday night while most of the bochurim were sleeping in the dormitory rooms.
Thankfully, the group of Talmidim Shluchim was awake planning a special farbrengen on Shabbos when they noticed the smoke spreading through the rooms.
With the help of the dorm counselors, they woke up each student and helped them evacuate from the building until firefighters arrived.
“It was an obvious miracle that no student was injured,” directors of the Yeshiva said. “The electricity system in most of the building’s floors was completely shut down and the damage is estimated at hundreds of thousands of shekels.”
Bochurim were sent home the next morning to spend Shabbos in their homes and it was not clear when studies would be resuming.
