Bochurim Leave Event With Prizes

Hundreds of Chabad yeshiva bochurim participating in the ‘Vehogisa’ learning program gathered with their parents last week for a Siyum Masechta.

Sitting around round tables, the bochurim packed into the Chovevei Torah hall in Crown Heights for a celebration of their studies and dedication to learning.

The Siyum on Masechta Sukkah was made by Dovid Lypsic of the Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago. Siyum of Masechta Kesubos was made by Nochum Zvi Chaikin of the Mesivta in Toronto.

Emceeing the event was Rabbi Mendel Itzinger, Director of Igud Mesivtos V’Yeshivos which intiated the program. “Welcome to the hundreds of bochuim gathered from every Mesivta across the USA Canada and Europe.”

“Vehogisa truly shows that learning isn’t only for a select few. Nor is it only in a few subjects. Rather everyone can succeed, and everyone can find something they enjoy,” he said.

First to address the participants was Rabbi Leibel Schapiro, Rosh Yeshiva in Miami. Who regaled the Bochurim with his warm words of encouragement, and told them personal stories of the Nachas the Rebbe had when Bochurim learned.

Rabbi Ezra Schochet, Rosh Yeshiva Ohr Elchanan Chabad in Los Angeles, California, encouraged the Bochurim to keep growing.

Special presentations were made to Rabbi Yaakov Raskin for his tireless efforts in running this mivtza. And to Rabbi Chaim Fildstil and Rabbi Tzemach Feller for writing and preparing tests for the bochurim throughout the year.
