The light of Chanukah was spread throughout Rockland County, NY this Chanukah, with Mivtzoim led by Mesivta Lubavitch of Monsey.
Bochurim headed out each night in Mitzvah Tanks and Menorah trucks to Chabad houses in the area and assisted many Shluchim with Chanukah events and visits to many homes in Rockland County and beyond.
Mivtzoim also took place in many malls such as Woodbury Commons, American Dream Mall, as well as the Palisades Mall, where an encounter with a man dressed in holiday costume donning Tefillin was caught on camera by a passerby, causing a great Kiddush Hashem when the video went viral.
On Sunday, a grand Menorah Car Parade of over 100 cars headed out to the streets of Rockland County, bringing the light of Chanukah to thousands who watched from their windows and in the streets.
The parade drove through the heart of Monsey, coordinated by Chaveirim and the local Fire and Police Departments.
The parade concluded with a Menorah Lighting event at Palisades Mall, with hundreds in attendance.
Rabbi Boruch Lesches, the Rov of Monsey, addressed the crowd and the Menorah was lit by Yeshivas Lubavitch of Monsey Menahel Rabbi Sender Lustig. Joyous dancing was accompanied by musician Meir Tiechtel.
The children enjoyed a rally and entertainment by a magician.
The bochurim left in high spirits and traveled home for the remainder of Chanukah ready to bring the light to their homes and communities.
