Bochurim Further the ‘Initiative’

The Moshiach Initiative, a project by a group of Chabad bochurim learning in Oholei Torah Zal in Crown Heights, is gaining momentum.

Some 600 bochurim from around the world have united to learn the Rebbe’s sichos about the redemption over the past few weeks.

Those who participated have been entered into a weekly raffle. Ariel Benayon who learns in Argentina won a dollar bill given by the Rebbe. Menachem Alush from the Morristown Yeshiva won a set of Likutei Sichos. Zevi Steinmetz who learns in Caracas won a dime given by the Rebbe.

The learning was one of the 3 resolutions bochurim have taken upon themselves during a gathering on 28 Nissan, the day on which the Rebbe called to do all that is possible to bring Moshiach.

The second resolution was a monthly shiur on the topic of Moshiach for bochurim in Crown Heights. This month’s shiur was attended by some 100 bochurim at Getzel’s Shul and presented by Rabbi Velvel Butman, Director of Chabad of Westchester County, NY.

And a third resolution, to publish a one-page flyer about Moshiach, was successfully designed and printed for bochurim to hand-out to Jews during their Mivtzoim visits on Friday.

The bochurim explained that it is not meant to be an alternative, but one that can be slipped into current publications such as the L’Chaim Weekly. The publication is available at Mivtzoim centers or via email at [email protected].

“We are hoping that these deeds will be the last ones that are needed to tip the scale and bring Moshiach,” said the initiators, bochurim from the Shiur Daled of Oholei Torah Zal.
