Hundreds of Chabad bochurim have begun learning Chelek Chof Hei of Likkutei Sichos in preparation for a grand test and competition in New York.
The Halikut program launched last year has developed a unique learning regimen where bochurim will learn a full Sefer of Likkutei Sichos by heart.
Halikut, a project of Vaad Hatmimim Halomi, has launched for the second year in 16 participating Yeshivas this past week by the Talmidim Hashluchim with a video presentation, and has been received with utmost excitement.
The video includes words of encouragement to participate by Reb Yoel Kahn, and by last year’s judges Rabbis Avrohom Gerlitzky and Leibel Schapiro, as well as by Mashpia Rabbi Leima Wilhelm, and Rabbi Shmuly Avtzon who directs Halikut’s tests.
Each bochur will receive a booklet with translations and explanations on the Sichos and has started learning the Sichos with their extra time, and by Seider Sichos organized by the Talmidim Hashluchim in every Yeshiva.
The bochurim participating in Halikut will be taking three general tests in their yeshiva, and those who pass will then be invited to the Halikut Siyum in New York, where they will be tested and take part in competitions on the entire Sefer at once.
Those passing the grand test will each receive $300 in Kehos, and those participating in the ‘one Sicha a week’ program will receive the set of the Rebbe’s Sefer Hamaamarim.
In addition, all Bochurim which receive over 90% on their test will be rewarded with the entire set of the Rebbe’s Igros Kodesh. At the Halikut Siyum the top contestants will compete to win the first place reward of the entire Rebbe’s Torah in Kehos.
