Bnos Menachem Junior High school in Crown Heights was renamed the Reuven Tatarka Junior High during a special gathering on Tuesday, 28 Shvat.
School director Rabbi Motty Gurary gave a heartfelt tribute to a dear friend, Mr. Ronnie Tatarka, who passed away at the age of 58 and was a staunch chossid and passionate about charitable causes, including Bnos Menachem.
A beautiful plaque was unveiled by school administrator Rabbi Zalman Wilhelm. English Elementary Principal Mrs. Zahava Slae led the recitation of Tehillim.
The students followed with their daily mincha and shortly after, the plaque was secured into place. The students were visibly moved by this tremendous privilege to have the name of Reuven Yosef ben Avrohom affixed to their Junior High and understood the responsibility that is associated with it.

And all without fuss or fanfare. He was so approachable and a friend to and for so many, and never persuade koved. He was Ronnie. May Hashem bless his family that they should follow in his footsteps.
Ronnie is someone to learn so much from. A successful businessman, family man and friend, who gave his riches to those less fortunate than himself. His death was a major loss to us all, yet his legacy is his family that he left behind – such incredible and inspiring people. May his neshama reach the highest places in heaven!
