Bnos Chomesh Academy in Crown Heights is known for its innovative educational and extra-curricular programs, so it comes as no surprise that in the first week of school the students are already going on trips.
The high school ventured out to Alley Pond Park in Queens for team building activities and, for the very brave, ropes coursing. Amid perfect weather, the students learned what it means to trust each other while trying to jump across “hot lava”, and cheered each other on as the tasks got increasingly challenging. Some described it as “the best first week of school ever” while others were pleasantly surprised that they were able to push themselves despite initial hesitation to try something new. Mincha and Slurpees rounded out a spectacular day for BCA.
The junior high school students enjoyed a different type of team building trip as they headed off to Peddlers and Parchment Escape Room in Flatbush. Thanks to their great work ethic and stellar teamwork the girls were able to “escape the room” and head over to buy some ice cream as a reward for their efforts.
And now that the school year has started in earnest, Bnos Chomesh students are enjoying their regular studies along with extracurricular classes that include art, guitar, creative writing, Zumba and self-defense.

As a parent of a child who is in this school, all I can say is Baruch HaShem for Mrs. Dena Gorkin and her incredibly caring, loving, devoted staff. These girls are just thriving! Thank you for providing such a wonderful space for these amazing kids. All the blessings to all of you!
This should take place in every school.
