Bnos Chomesh Goes to Florida, Again

For the third year in a row the lucky students of Bnos Chomesh High School in Crown Heights took an out-of-this-world trip to sunny Florida in honor of Lag B’Omer.

The 3-day excursion began with a flight from LaGuardia Airport, landing in Fort Lauderdale and making a beeline for the best pizza in Fort Lauderdale, Ariel’s Delicious Pizza (and it was!).

Then it was off to the sprawling property generously shared by a friend of Bnos Chomesh. The girls thought they were in a fantasy world as they stepped into the luxurious home that boasted ample sleeping space, an outdoor pool, volleyball court, basketball court, fire pit and every amenity needed to make for an incredibly comfortable stay. Luba Braun and Giti Levin kept the girls busy until the early morning hours, but that didn’t stop everyone from jumping out of bed the following morning to daven and head to Healing Hearts, where they met Rabbi Yochanan Klein and helped prepare Kosher food packages for Jewish families who have a loved one in the hospital.

The days were filled with activities including speedboating, kayaking, biking, hiking, games and two incredible farbrengens, one with Rabbi Eli Estrin and the other with Shluchim Rabbi and Mrs. Krasnianski of Honolulu, Hawaii.

What was the best part of the trip? If you ask our students and extraordinary staff, , they will say it was the bonding time, getting to know one another on a different level than is possible in the school setting.

A special shout out to the dedicated staff members who accompanied the girls on the trip and to all the behind the scenes planners. Bnos Chomesh students are already excitedly making their suggestions for next year’s outing!
