Bnos Chomesh students pause to express their appreciation for their school, and let girls know that Bnos Chomesh is a great option worth exploring for Junior high and/or high school.
We came to Bnos Chomesh when we were in 10th grade.
And that’s when our lives changed.
For the first time ever, we started to really appreciate school. We even began to love school.
And now that we are getting closer to graduation, we are writing this article in the hope that other girls will be inspired to make the switch.
So what is it about our school that makes us excited to go every day?
It’s our teachers….they just care.
And it’s the classes…they are just interesting.
And it’s….everything.
Everything they do is geared towards who we are as Lubavticher girls growing up in 2022.
The learning is so real, and our teachers stop to answer our questions
because they realize that our questions matter and that their answers make a difference.
Every one of our teachers is someone we can talk to, confide in and trust.
And school is just so much fun!!!!
We are G.O. heads and part of our job is to make sure there are great programs, both in school and also after hours.
Here is a glimpse into some of what’s gone on in the last month at Bnos Chomesh:
Rosh Chodesh Shvat, just like every Rosh Chodesh, we had a delicious catered gourmet lunch. We spent the next week and a half preparing for Yud Shvat, which started off with a Yom Tov Dinner and a Farbrengen with the one and only Rochel Schmerling. In the morning, Rabbi Naftali Silberberg spoke to us about what it means to speak to the Rebbe and we wrote Panim and went to Ohel.
On Yud Shvat itself we had amazing workshops about different aspects of this special day, and then we went to Chabad House of the Bowery where we were entertained and inspired by Rabbi Korn’s incredible stories and ideas.
For Tu B’shvat we had a table of she’hecheyanu fruits with a chocolate fountain to celebrate the day, plus we were lucky to hear Mrs Sandra Paul tell her fascinating story and talk about her connection to the Rebbe. Then came Chof Beis Shvat when we heard Shluchos speaking about their shlichus and our classmates made a fashion show of great Jewish women throughout the ages as well as a beautiful choir. We also had our monthly Soul Stirrings, a pre-Rosh Chodesh kumzitz that offers delicious hot soup to warm our bodies and niggunim to warm our neshamos.
And now that we have entered Adar the fun has really begun! We have Music Month at school and we have all kinds of great activities relating to music, like surprise concerts with Jewish music artists. Last week we were just finishing up Mincha when suddenly in walked….Jeryko, guitar in hand, ready to give a command performance in our school! At the end of Music Month there will be a fabulous trip for all students who participate by keeping a journal of the music they have listened to as well as participating in all the events. And there are lots more Adar surprises on the way!
You would think that with all this going on in school there’s no time for learning, but…you would be wrong. We have amazing classes every day with teachers who give us their time and attention in and out of school. We also have a fantastic program called Five Alive, which is a learning program led by our fabulous Chumash teacher, Chanale Chanin in her home every Wednesday evening. We learn together in a really unique way, read some letters of the Rebbe, and each girl gets a chance to discuss how the learning is personal to her. Also there is sushi!
If you are getting the sense that there is a food theme in our school, you are absolutely right! Most of our events have delicious food to eat, but more importantly…they have food for our minds, hearts and souls. Speak to any Bnos Chomesh student and you will hear the same thing: I love my school!
Wishing everyone a successful school year!

Heartwarming to have students feel this way about school and being willing to express it.
The atmosphere in Bnos chomesh is more unique than any other school, it’s the atmosphere that is made up of a team effort to give students a place to thrive.
Yes Excellent
If only all unhappy students would be brave, take the plunge and go to BCA where they’ll feel supported, cared for and appreciated for WHO THEY ARE.
If a girl doesn’t feel her needs are being met in her school,do what’s best for yourself and move to BCA. You’ll never thank me enough!
Bnos chomesh is the most caring and loving school. They help you with ANYTHING you need help with, school related or even different things out of school. They genuinely care so much about each student and the staff sees everyone as individual girls with individual needs. The staff have supported me through thick and thin and I am forever grateful. <3
Is there a dorm? Does this school accept girls from out of town?
Currently there is no dorm but many of the students are from out of town, they board or stay by family.
