This year, Bnos Chomesh, with the generous help of Ruchama Bistritzky-Clapman of MASK, took Lag B’Omer up a notch with a grand 2 day overnight trip.
On Wednesday evening, the girls were treated to a lavish barbecue, bonfire, and kumzitz/farbrengen. Around midnight, the group headed to a luxurious airbnb for the night, where the joyful mood continued into the wee hours of the morning.
Despite some understandable tiredness, the girls were up bright and early Thursday morning for Chassidus, davening and breakfast followed by a full day trip to Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ.
“The Lag B’omer overnight is one of the highlights of our school year, ” says Bnos Chomesh principal, Mrs. Dena Gorkin. “Our staff works tirelessly to give the girls an outstanding and memorable experience.” And the feedback from the girls shows just how impactful the trip was. “Being in nature, singing and farbrenging was a very calming and spiritual experience for me,” stated one student. Another wrote: “I didn’t realize how much I could enjoy these activities…I realized that most of the time happiness is right in front of me and I just have to grab it!”
The Lag B’Omer trip is just one of many exciting and meaningful events that Bnos Chomesh has each school year. A big thank you to Mrs. Bistritzky-Clapman and MASK for sponsoring and enabling us to coordinate this grand event and other after-school programs. Trips and activities that bring the students together are an outgrowth of Bnos Chomesh’s philosophy: Create a joyful, unified school environment and your students will blossom!
