This past Shabbos, the Campus Chabad-Migdal Ha’emek saw its first-ever Shabbos Achdus, gathering Hispanic Bochurim from all over Eretz Hakodesh, with the Guest of honor, Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, Director at Chabad Lubavitch of Argentina.
The Hebrew’s yeshiva at Migdal has an exceptional program led by Rabbi Akiva Goldshmidt, geared for Bochurim and students from different backgrounds and countries, for them to excel in their learning with Chassidish and bright atmosphere.
The Spanish division led by Rabbi Boruch Konfederak, run a year round program, providing an open door for any Spanish speaker who wishes to get a taste of the real beauty of Yiddishkeit and Chassidus.
Last week the Spanish division decided to organize a Shabbaton, catering for the first time in history for all Spanish-speaking Yeshivos. The guest of honor this Shabbos was Rabbi Grunblat who came especially for this unique event. In spite of the limited space available, more than 70 Latino students who study in Eretz Hakodesh joined.
It all started when the guests went out to Mivtzoim in Haifa, accompanied by their friends in the local Yeshiva, offering hundreds of Yidden the opportunity to fulfill the Mitzvah of Tefillin and passing out Shabbos candles.
This in turn, turned out to be a big hit, being the first time for them to experience Mivtzoim single-handed. As many of them related: “As my first time, it was very moving to be the one helping out another Jew put on Tefillin, it’s a great merit to be part of this.”
Over Shabbos, there were Shiurim, Chavrusas, and much singing and dancing. The Shabbos meals were accompanied by life stories of each one of the participants of the event, and a Grand Farbrengen, listening and learning to the guest of honor Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt and his work in Argentina.
The peak of it all was when after 5 hours of studying Chassidus and 7 hours of Farbrengen, the boys made a joint decision of meriting at least 1,200 Jews with the mitzvah of Tefillin in honor of 11 Nissan.
Overall an inspiring and uplifting experience.
As the great Shabbos came to a close, the Yeshiva continues with its regular programs, inviting any student from all backgrounds and countries to schedule their visit, and taste for himself this beautiful experience.
