A Jewish man was attacked Wednesday morning while walking on the street in Crown Heights.
The Lubavitch man, a resident of Crown Heights, was walking on Lefferts Avenue near Albany Avenue at about 6 am, reading prayers from his cell phone when a black male approached him, smacked the phone from his hand and punched him in the face, NYPD said.
NYPD quickly arrested the individual, who they said is a 46 year old local resident.
While he was being arrested, the attacker yelled, “I’m fed up with the Jews!” and other Anti-Semitic statements.
The NYPD are treating this as a bias incident.
