Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with President Joe Biden on Friday in a meeting that was postponed due to the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan.
“It was a wonderful meeting, especially the one-on-one,” Prime Minister Bennett later said in a briefing to reporters. “It was mostly a working meeting. There was a feeling that we’ve known each other for a long time. I found a leader who loves Israel, knows exactly what he wants, and is attentive to our needs.”
“Both President Biden and I are determined that Iran won’t ever get a nuclear weapon. I am happy that we agree on the goal. Our staffs will work in the coming days, weeks, and months to develop channels of cooperation,” he said.
Prime Minister Bennett said that he invited President Biden to visit Israel after the country will “defeat the Delta variant.”
Bennett will spend Shabbos in Washington, DC. While a Minister, he would often do so at TheSHUL (Chabad) with Rabbi Levi and Nechama Shemtov in Washington, DC. Large crowds from the community would join him after services for Shabbat dinner there. This time, due to COVID, the hotel where the delegation is staying is sealed.
And so, at the embassy’s request, American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad) in Washington, DC, together with Rabbi Shlomo Beitsch of Chabad Israeli Center, provided the elements for a basic Shul at the hotel, including a Sefer Torah, chumashim, siddurim, and kippot, enabling the Prime Minister and his entourage to hold a minyan there. Shabbat dinner for the delegation and press will take place at the hotel as well.
Perhaps the community will be able to greet them another time.

Being invited to private dinning room is always an honor for any body visiting any where, a lot more warmer and far more personal than in an office even if it’s in the white house. Or especially if it’s in the white house!!!
Kol Hakavod to you Naftali.B Well Done!!
More interesting then his Shabbos plans are his plans and those of his entourage to quarantine upon their return to Israel from America – an Orange country…..
he fell asleep in the oval office while with Bennet. A first no doubt for the oval office!
