One of the first major events to be cancelled due to the pandemic last year, was the major gathering planned in honor of the Rebbe Rashab’s 100th yartzeit.
On Beis Nisan last year even a minyan of local Jews weren’t able to gather, and the shluchim of Rostov represented the global Jewish community on this holy day.
This year, the local community felt the great responsibility of representing Klal Yisroel at the Ohel in Rostov, as foreigners aren’t yet allowed into Russia.
Young and old gathered at the Ohel throughout the day and evening to Daven on this auspicious occasion.
“After Beis Nisan events were cancelled last year, we came to the realization that the Rebbe wants us to focus on the local Yidden living in Rostov, rather than on a major event for Lubavitchers around the world,” said Shliach in Rostov, Rabbi Chaim Danzinger.
“Boruch Hashem, there are close to 15,000 Jews living in the city, and this year has been all about helping them begashmius, and providing them with much needed food packages, medicine and support in these challenging times.”
“So many Yidden who never had any contact with the community, have now reconnected thanks to our renewed efforts of helping them during this time of need.”
If you would like to send a pan or names to be read at the Ohel, you can do so at [email protected].
If you would be interested in adding to your merit on this auspicious day, you can support the work and the ways of the Baal hahilula in his city of Rostov.
In honor of Beis Nisan, partner with Chabad of Rostov, and their major Pesach maps chitin campaign, soup kitchen, day school, Chesed organization, summer camp and everything Jewish that moves.
