Over 600 people gathered at Shriver Hall – Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland, for an uplifting evening on Sunday, commemorating the 20th yartzheit of the Rebbe.
A joint effort of all the local shluchim in the Greater Baltimore area, the evening opened with an exclusive VIP reception, where the event sponsors had an opportunity to meet personally with the guest speaker and enjoy a variety of hors d’oeuvres, fine wine and desserts.
The speakers included Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan, Regional Director of Chabad of Maryland, Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, Executive Vice President Emeritus of the Orthodox Union who related his personnel story of the Rebbe that changed his life and focused on the Rebbe’s ‘gadlus’ and unique contribution to Torah knowledge.

Mr. Dennis Prager, nationally syndicated radio talk show host, columnist, author, and speaker addressed the Rebbe’s impact in changing the face of traditional Judaism and making it relevant to the times we live in.
The speaker were followed by a musical tribute performed by members of the Peabody Conservatory. The music of the nigunnim played was written special for the event by local ‘anash’ member and composer Jared Weissbrot.
The evening concluded with the moving film “Marching Orders” produced by JEM. On their way out, everyone received a copy of the beautiful Rebbe magazine produced by the Shluchim Office.
I WAS THERE.. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND MOVING EVENT.. HALL WAS PACKED WALL TO WALL WITH JEWS OF EVERY STRIPE AND STREAM.. THE SHLUCHIM’S TIRELESS EFFORT IN ARRANGING THIS VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENT WAS EVIDENT THROUGHOUT THE EVENING.. MUCH SUCCESS!!
