Bais Rivkah Schools, the flagship Chabad girls school in Crown Heights, has signed a contract to acquire a new building on East New York Avenue, just steps away from their current Campus Chomesh.
The new building is planned for use by the Bais Rivkah Seminary division of the school which educates over 2,000 students from preschool through Teacher’s Seminary.
Rabbi Avraham Shemtov, Chairman of the board of Associated Beth Rivkah Schools, shared with COLlive how Bais Rivkah has served as an anchor in the Rebbe’s historic vision of dispatching energetic Shluchim couples to illuminate and ultimately transform the Jewish landscape.
The Rebbe’s devotion to Bais Rivkah was clearly expressed when the Rebbe participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Campus Chomesh on Lefferts Avenue, named in honor of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, OBM.
“This acquisition marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Bais Rivkah’s journey and is the first phase of a broader development plan to address our ever-expanding needs,” said Rabbi Moshe Pinson, Director of Development.
“With Bais Rivkah educating 2,800 students and counting, this new educational space will provide the much-needed room for our students to learn, grow, and thrive in an environment that reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence.”
“We are deeply grateful to the supporters who are helping to make this dream possible,” shared Mendy Gansburg, a member of the Bais Rivkah Board. “With the Rebbe’s blessings and Hashem’s help, we are determined to purchase the building and complete renovations in time to open the building for the next school year. However, this ambitious project requires urgent action. We have just 60 days to finalize the purchase and begin the necessary remodeling.”
The total cost of purchasing and remodeling the building is $10 million. Baruch Hashem, Bais Rivkah has already secured 50% of the funds through the generosity of a few dedicated families. Now, they are preparing to launch a capital campaign to raise the remaining amount needed to bring this transformative vision to life.
“This is more than a physical expansion; it is a sacred mission deeply rooted in the vision of Bais Rivkah’s founders,” shared Pinson, who is leading the fundraising campaign. “Established by the Frierdiker Rebbe and guided by the Rebbe’s vision, our school stands as a beacon of Jewish and Chassidish education and pride. This new campus is a significant step forward in fulfilling that sacred mission and securing the future of Jewish women’s education.”

חיזקו ואימצו!
please be mindful of people who live nearby not shrieking girls leaving at 930 at night yapping loudly….. late night fabrengen parties. and remember please to shoval snow
Yes to this ! I really hope this will be enforced. This is a residential area not a campground. In general teaching our girls appropriate decorum in the streets wouldn’t hurt. The amount of time I see girls shrieking is cringe worthy.
Please be mindful that this is perfectly normal teen behavior, and if you are having a problem with teens making perfectly normal loud noises in a public place, perhaps look within for the problem.
We still have relatively few Jews here in “Southwest” C. Hts. (Still North of E. Flatbush) — though things are growing slowly.
May this new anchor from Beth Rivkah convince many more Yidden to join us here, please Hashem!
Thank you Bais Rivkah Seminary for giving the greatest experience. Thank you to every staff member at Bais Rivkah for all of your care, devotion, dedication and tireless work!
May it be a beautiful building with all of the Brachos!
IyH should go so quickly and with so much Bracha! Such great news
