Bais Rivkah High School Production, a fabulous display of drama, dance and choir, brings out the student’s talents in ways never seen before. Due to world events, this mainstay performance was not performed live last year.
This year, Bais Rivkah in Crown Heights knew the production had to take place. New York City public schools, the common production venue, required double vaccinations for entrants. Bais Rivkah was determined. How can we create a platform for our high school and sixth-grade students to shine?
Looking inward, sights settled on Bais Rivkah Lefferts. The Rosa Hall stage can hold 100 performers. Over 750 stars were to perform in “Strong”. With creative ingenuity and at large expense, the production committee completely reimagined Rosa Hall. The room was fully transformed with a large stage, massive video screens, professional lighting, and top-quality sound.
Over 1,700 viewers packed the hall over three performances. Spectators were transported to Baghdad, Iraq where Matzliach, a young talmid chocham, takes center stage. Thrust into the family business after his father passed on, Matzliach must leave behind all he values and assume a new role. This position led him far from home, into great danger, where Matzliach was put to the test. Was he truly “Strong”?
Rave reviews followed the impactful production, which highlighted the power of your one mitzvah.
“It was orchestrated so smoothly — despite the difficult circumstances. Scenes flowed, scenery and props moved in and out in a seamless fashion, the girls knew how to go on and off the stage in a safe and organized way — so impressive. Thank you!
But, that’s not all. The tochen and message of the production was great!”
“I am just blown away by the phenomenal, outstanding, incredible production! Bais Rivka lunchroom transformed into a theater. The lights, music, costumes, scenery, and of course all the drama, choir, and dancing was one of a kind!
The message was so profound. I really enjoyed the energy. Thank you so much to all the staff and organizers who made it all it was! I am so proud to be a Bais Rivka Parent!”
The incredible Bais Rivkah administration and production committee went above and beyond to ensure that production will be viable this year.
