Bais Rivkah girls school in Crown Heights announced a change in its leadership as it plans its reopening after the coronavirus pandemic.
Mrs. Chaya Laine, who served as principal of the High School General Education Department, will be transitioning to a new role within Bais Rivkah for the upcoming school year.
Mrs. Laine will serve as a consultant to the General Education faculty on a weekly basis, the school notified.
“We would like to share our appreciation for Mrs. Laine’s years of dedication to the development and constant enhancement of the General Education curriculum for so many years,” her colleagues and the Board of Directors wrote.
The school’s principals are Rabbi Laibel Newman, Mrs. Sara Tenenbaum, Mrs. Chaya Sara Tenenbaum, Mrs. Eidla Nemanow, Mrs. Dinah Brawer, Mrs. Gitty Rosenfeld, Mrs. Leah Jacobson, Mrs. Sheindel Tiechtel, Mrs. Chana Gorowitz and Mrs. Hindy Gurwitz.
“We are forever grateful for the integral role Mrs. Laine has played in the growth and successes of Bais Rivkah High School,” they added.
She was definitely the best principal I’ve had. She’s good at pushing you to your potential and motivating you to do your best! I really hope she still plays an active role in the school because she was literally the glue that held that school together and made it functional.
Thank you Mrs. Laine!
Mrs. Laine was always available when you needed her and pushed every girl to their fullest potential and really knew what motivation every girl needed. She was a great principal!!
You really cared.
I agree to the above. She was an anchor to high school
I had just entered 9th grade and was a pretty poor math student. My sister didn’t take regents so I automatically was put in the non-regents class. I was upset and told her that I wanted to try and make it to the regents class. She said sure try it out. Fast forward with a lot of help and focus I graduated with a regents diploma!
Thank you Mrs Laine for your support and dedication to your students!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I taught for Mrs. Laine for many years and although we didn’t always see eye to eye, she had and always will have my respect and admiration. She is a superb educator, genuinely cares for the welfare of each student & was a supportive “boss” to her staff. After I left teaching, Mrs. Laine was always there for my own daughters, and she graciously attended their weddings. Mrs. Laine will be missed and I don’t know who will be as qualified to take over.
