Yud Tes Kislev this year at Bais Chana High School in Orange, CT, was celebrated with much enthusiasm, joy, and meaning.
To lead up to the auspicious occasion, students of Bais Chana participated in a nation-wide hachana for all Chabad High Schools led by Mrs. Shterna Ginsburg.
Over the course of four transformative workshops during their Tanya and Chassidus classes, highschool students explored the foundational ideas of Tanya through a personal and practical lens.
Students shared that the program created an inspiring change in their thinking. “I learned I can change myself because I’m not defined by my actions until now; I’m not stuck,” explained a 12th grade student.
As a culmination of the hachana, Bais Chana traveled on a school-wide trip to the Ohel, on Yud Ches Kislev. This opportunity to daven and connect provided inspiration to head into the Rosh Hashana L’Chassidus.
A beautiful seuda awaited the students on the day of Yud Tes Kislev. The highlight of the event was a powerful workshop on the approach of Chassidus to happiness, led by Mrs. Raizel Shusterman.
Students walked away with tangible tools to integrate simcha and meaning into their lives. An 11th grade student shared, “I appreciated the strategies from Mrs. Shusterman about how you can ingrain new ideas into your mind by focusing on them even just for 12 seconds, and how that can lead you to become a more grateful, happy person.”
All of the above activities are part of Bais Chana’s mission to integrate Chassidus into the daily lives of students in a real and practical way.
As one student summed it up, “I found this year’s Yud Tes Kislev very inspiring!” For more information about Bais Chana, call Mrs. Bluma Hecht at 203-795-5261.
