Rabbi Chaim and Rivkie Lipsker (nee Laine) of Chabad at UCF (University of Central Florida) started a fundraising campaign to raise money for a property for their new Chabad house.
The young couple, originally from Crown Heights, serve 7000 Jewish students on campus every year, with 150-200 guests eating over every Friday night. Their young children clear out their bedrooms every Shabbos to make room for the dozens of students who want to sleep over so that they don’t have to drive on Shabbos.
Their small home in Oviedo, Florida, is bursting at the seams, completely unable to contain the thousands of students who walk through their doors on a regular basis, their friends say. “They must have a new place, and an ideal property recently became available in a great location.”
But their Go-Fund-Me is not yielding the expected results.
As a campus Chabad House, they don’t have a local community to turn to for financial help, and their loyal student body can only churn out so much money.
With their closing deadline less than 24 hours away, the Lipskers have other important things on their mind.
On the 3rd day of Chanukah, Rivkie Lipsker gave birth to a baby boy. Between tending to their new excitement and coordinating Chanukah activities on campus, Rabbi Lipsker has his hands tied. “We need a Chanukah Miracle,” he says.
Friends of the Lipskers are turning to fellow Lubavitchers to help out. “The Lipskers are well known and very beloved in town, there has to be a way to help them!” wrote one of their friends.

If everyone donates $5 (or more of they could) then these shluchim will meet the goal right away.
I don’t think there’s is anyone who can’t give $5!
I just donated $40 bc it’s the fourth night of chanuka
I am a random reader to collive. I’m moved by what this young family is doing. If all the collive readers of this article donate what they can, this family’s selfless dream can turn into a reality. Dig past your indifference. Dig still deeper into your pockets. The smaller donations to the larger ones all add up. They are far behind their goal.
keep up your great work!!!!
