Jewish music star Avraham Fried once again drew a full crowd to the Besheva summer concert at The Sultan’s Pool, an ancient water basin by the west side of Mount Zion in Jerusalem, Israel.
Fried, who traveled from his home in Crown Heights, sang some of his popular hits on Monday. He also had duets on stage with singers Benaia Barabi and Moshe Peled.
During the concert, Fried paused the music and asked the crowd to join him in prayer for his father-in-law, R’ David Krasnjanski, a talmid chacham and a retired US Navy aircraft engineer.
“I am with you here in Jerusalem, but my head and heart are in New York,” Fried commented. “My shver fell a few days ago. Let us all say Tehillim for his health.”
Fried then proceeded in reciting Kapital 20 in merit of Dovid Nachman ben Yocheved Shifra for a full and speedy recovery.
Before the concert began, Fried had a chance to meet some of the participants in the audience. One of them, an elderly woman, told him she loves his songs and regularly attends concerts.
“Yesterday, she came to celebrate his 94th birthday,” Fried said about the conversation. “I wished her until 180 years and she responded that 120 will do in good health. Mazal Tov and how good that we met.”

Please say Tehillim for Zaidy Kraznjanski.
דוד נחמן בן יוכבד שפרא
I had no idea he was a US Navy aircraft engineer! I’d love to hear more of his experiences.
Iy. H. Our beloved Rosh Hakollel, Dovid Nachman ben Yocheved Shifra, should have a refuah sheleima. For years, he has led our kollel in Crown Heights on a daily basis. He gives all the shiurim, both Chassidus and Nigleh. He’s a Talmud Chacham!
Best zeidy ever ❤️❤️❤️
I will add his name to my Tehillim list. Wishing him a Refuach Shalama.
