R’ Avi Bacher, a member of the Lubavitch community in South Africa, tragically passed away Shabbos morning, 24 Adar 5772.
He was 54.
A resident of Johannesburg, he was well liked by all those who met him and was known for his tremendous chessed.
“He did a lot for people in a very private manner. He was always available to do a favor for a fellow yid,” a member of his family told COLlive.
Many attended his levaya which took place Sunday in the Jewish section of West Park Cemetery in Johannesburg.
He is survived by his wife Natalie Bacher and their children Yosef Yitzchok Bacher of Johannesburg, Nechama Dina Baram of Raanana, Israel and Shterna Sarah Bacher of Johannesburg. And by a sister, Yocheved.
