After decades of strong relationships with the Chief Rabbinate, Rabbi Yehoram Ulman was warmly received by Israel’s newly appointed Chief Rabbis, Sephardi Chief Rabbi David Yosef and Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Kalman Ber during his visit to Israel.
Rabbi Ulman, senior Dayan on the Beis Din of Sydney, has long played a crucial role not only within the Australian Jewish community but also as a respected halachic authority for many Chabad emissaries worldwide.
Beyond his responsibilities in Sydney, he is recognised as one of Chabad’s leading halachic authorities, providing guidance to countless individuals and Rabbis across the globe on critical issues such as status issues, conversions, Marriage, Divorce and fertility, and genetics.
Among his many contributions, Rabbi Ulman established JewishStatus.org, an online platform designed to assist Chabad shluchim in clarifying status issues for their community members. The site has gained widespread recognition, extending beyond the Chabad network to serve rabbis from various backgrounds.
In addition to his meetings with the chief rabbis, Rabbi Ulman together with Rabbi Ezra Basri and Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Feigelstock conferred rabbinic ordination (dayanus) upon three distinguished rabbis:
1. Rabbi Baruch Myers – Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Bratislava and Executive Director of Chabad of Slovakia.
2. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Karniel – Director of Beit Chabad Panama City
3. Rabbi Dov Lisker – Shliach in Mequon, Wisconsin, and Director of Mequon Torah Center at Chabad’s Peltz Center for Jewish Life.

The most warm understanding Rav that I have ever come across. The sensitivity and giving over his time is beyond a gift. What a gift to the world!
A Rov cannot just be smart. Thank you Rabbi Ulman for being such an example of a kind leader, someone who gives due diligence and listens to people, and doesn’t bail on you when matters become uncomfortable. I am so happy that I recently switched from a rov of over 20 years to Rabbi Ulman Shlita.
