A night of entertainment and a Chinese Auction will take place on Chanukah, with all proceeds going directly towards helping Orah Mital Habosha continue on her road to a full and speedy recovery.
The event will include a concert by Esther Freeman.
On August 3rd, 2007 Orah Mital Habosha, at fifteen years of age, miraculously survived a car accident. Defying the prediction of doctors, Orah Mital began to respond to stimuli and after life-saving surgery was performed, awoke from her comatose state to recognize family and friends and communicate with them through a system of blinks. Orah Mital has made great strides in her recovery, however, recovery from traumatic brain injury is a long and deeply complex process requiring patience, deep reserves of faith, and steady ongoing commitment and support.
For the past five years, every day, Orah Mital has been trying to regain control of her body. She has never given up hope and is continuously going to physical therapy and doctors. Orah Mital has started hyperbaric oxygen therapy, along with continuing her weekly routine of physical therapy. Although it is a hard and tiresome routine Orah Mital never stops and is always trying her hardest at whatever therapy she is doing. To continue on with her new treatment and therapy Orah Mital needs a lot of financial support.
The event will take place on the 8th night of Chanukah, December 5, 7:30-10:30 pm at Eshel Hall, 272 Kingston Ave. Admission is $20 and includes a $15 dollar ticket. Prizes are $15 dollars per ticket, light refreshments will be served.
