A big thank you goes to all those that organized and attended the Menorah lighting outside the shuttered Kingsbrook Shul in Crown Heights/East Flatbush this past Chanukah. That Menorah lighting gathering highlighted and raised the alarm about this dire issue, paving the way for local CH activists and elected officials to finally get involved. Hopefully New York State will pressure the hospital (which is funded thru state tax dollars) to return the Shul to it’s congregants

NY Assemb Cunningham can provide capital expense money for a NEW ROOF for Synagogue as a Jewish Cultural Center, similar to Christian Cultural Center in Canarsie, which gets NYS funds.

Factcheck: Kingsbrook Shul is in the 43rd Assembly District of Assemb Brian Cunningham. https://nyassembly.gov/mem/Brian-Cunningham/office/ https://nyassembly.gov/mem/Monique-Chandler-Waterman/office/ @h h – However, you are correct that a few years ago, the dividing line was E 49ths St and not Utica by KJMC. For instance, Vital Brooklyn Utica Crescent, which was the Kingsbrook Parking Lot, was previously in the NYS 58th Assembly, Monique Chandler-Waterman. Vital Brooklyn Kingsbrook Estates (northern Kingsbrook Hospital buildings) was in the 43rd Assembly district previously and now, as the previous NYS Assembly dividing line was E 49th Street just by KJMC, but now it appears to be a straight line… Read more »
