Rebbetzin Leah Kahn, wife of the revered Reb Yoel Kahn, shared a deep friendship with Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka obm. They were spiritual companions and dear friends who also shopped, traveled, and shared meals together. Over the years, their bond strengthened until the Rebbetzin’s passing on Chof Beis Shvat.
Many years before Chof Beis Shvat, Reb Sholom Ber Gansburg, the trusted butler in the Rebbe’s household, knocked on Rebbetzin Leah Yoel Kahn’s door with a special delivery. He brought her a box brimming with exquisite fabrics that had belonged to the Rebbetzin. Leah Kahn did not use the elegant pieces, rather, they sat in her home for years, each piece a silent reminder of a cherished friendship.
Recently, Leah Kahn decided it was time to give the precious materials a life of their own. She brought the fabric to a skilled seamstress who transformed the Rebbetzin’s materials into a striking work of art. Famed art dealer Izzy Clapman had the art professionally framed.
But Rebbetzin Leah Kahn had an even bigger vision for this artwork. She wanted it to serve a higher purpose, so she decided to donate all proceeds from its sale to a cause close to her heart. The money raised will go to a Gemach run by Rabbi Moshe Klein, specifically benefiting single mothers — divorced women, widows, and agunas—who are in financial need. This fund helps women borrow money during tough times, ensuring they have the support they need to rebuild their lives.
The person who buys this beautiful framed piece will not only own a meaningful work of art, but will also have the merit of supporting an everlasting act of charity, as the money in the gemach will be borrowed and repaid time and time again, creating an ongoing cycle of kindness.
This rare and significant piece of art is expected to sell for over $100,000. Those interested in making an offer are invited to take part in this incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact and help those in need.
The proceeds of this artwork will be directed towards everlasting acts of kindness, and Rebbetzin Leah Kahn’s tribute will continue to touch the lives of many, just as her friendship with Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka once did.
