Upon the Yeshiva return from their trip to the Rebbe for Yud Shevat, the Shluchim of Arizona Mesivta initiated Chidon Inyoneinu (Lit. “Our Inyan”), challenging all three Shiurim to learn in-depth all of the Rebbe’s Purim Sichos.
After several tests to determine the finalists, the Chidon took place on Sunday at the Chabad Bukharian Center in Phoenix.
In a battle of three rounds, beginning with written responses and then moving on to digital QR code submissions, only three contestants were left to compete for 1st place and the grand prize: a Set of Igros Kodesh of the Rebbe.
In a 3 way final buzzer round between finalists Menachem Mendel Altein, Aharon Zev Rubenfeld, and Zalman Yehudah Schusterman, Menachem Mendel Altein claimed first place in the competition, with Aharon Zev Rubenfeld in second place and Zalman Yehudah Schusterman in third place.
Other participants were rewarded at the event as well with certificates and Seforim.
The event was organized and run by the Shluchim, with judging by some of the Mashpi’im and Maggidei Shiurim.
The Chidon marks another step taken by the Yeshiva and its Shluchim to enhance the learning structure — raising the bar through competition and engagement, inspiring Bochurim to learn the Rebbe’s Sichos with depth, immersiveness, and a sense of personal ownership.
