Rabbi Shlomo Levy, of Chabad of Argentina, arrived last week with a group of students from his hometown. For over a year, the group had been learning the laws of kosher, shabbos and other observances, and therefore earned a chance to travel to New York, to visit the Ohel and 770, and to experience life in Crown Heights for a week.
On their first day in Crown Heights, Rabbi Avraham Lieder hosted the group for a welcome party at the Ahavas Chesed Center, which included a beautiful Menorah lighting and dinner.
“The atmosphere was warm and you could feel the excitement of the visitors at being in New York at last,” said Rabbi Moshe Abudarham, one of their teachers for the past year, who is accompanying the students. “They have worked hard to learn for over a year to earn this trip.”
A second group of students is scheduled to take the same trip in the next few weeks.
