It is only the 5th school year at the Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim in Antwerp, Belgium, and parents are singing its praises for the positive impact it has on its students.
The Yeshiva, headed by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Mendel Tvardovitz, caters primarily to Mesivta-age sons of Chabad Shluchim from around Europe.
“I traveled 8 hours to participate in this event,” commented one of the fathers about the end of year celebration that recently took place. “It was worth every minute to see my son so focused on Torah and Yeshiva.”
“The Yeshiva gives him and all of the students personal care and attention so they can love Torah and utilize their energies to learning and doing Mivtzoim,” the father added.
Bochurim in the Yeshiva were tested on Gemara Pesachim by Rabbi Sholom Greenfeld, Rov of the Alexander Shul in Antwerp. He said the bochurim were well versed and encouraged them to keep studying during the summer break.
Hundreds came to celebrate the bochurim’s achievements at the celebration held in the Keter Malchus hall of Chabad of Antwerp, directed by Rabbi Shabtai Slavatitzky, the Head Shliach of the city and the Mashpia of the Yeshiva.
Many of the speakers were the bochurim themselves: Sholom Myers of Bratislava-Slovakia, Menahem Mendel Trebnik of Ulm-Germany, Menachem Hazan of Milan-Italy and Yisroel Bruk of S. Petersburg-Russia.
Antwerp Chief Rabbi Dovid Moshe Lieberman spoke, as well as the Yeshiva’s Mashgiach Rabbi Yehoshua Rabinovich. Shliach Rabbi Moshe Stiefel of the Netherlands thanked the Yeshiva and its staff on behalf of the parents.
