Levi Syracuse is a cousin to the shliach and he probably meant it as an inside joke. Thats why he wrote his name. KOl hakovod to Avi, I know him and his family, and when I read the article I was no the least surprised. This is so typical for him. He probably thinks that its no big deal, of course I’ll give. Thats his nature.

Rabbi Richler is not only a shining light to us all, he is also an amazing addition to AskMoses, helping tons of Yidden all the time!
He is a Tzaddik, one with mesirus nefesh for every Yid, and a heart that we could all wish to emulate, beating consistently, with joy.

G-d bless your wife. It was a huge mitzvah on her part. I think you misunderstood the article. It said the names of 3 Chabad Rabbis as opposed to typical Lubavitchers. There were other Lubavitchers who donated such as two siblings (sister and brother) who each donated a kidney. I’m sure they have a big schar from G-d that awaits them. Yet, Lubavitch.com is a PR arm of the Chabad organization as opposed to the general Lubavitch community. I also think the article looked to underline that your nephew didn’t even know the recipient he was giving it to. Be… Read more »

I think the article meant to read, 4th Lubavitcher Shliach donated kidney. There are many Jews who have donated kidneys and each one of them are truly amazing for that.

The Shluchim that contribute their whole life to the spiritual and physical welfare of other Jews do enough to merit their being great people. This just adds to their greatness.

Simply Beautiful

With all due respect to whoever wrote “4th Lubavitcher donates a kidney”, I would like to inform you that my wife, who is a Lubavitcher was probably the 1st Lubavitcher to donate a kidney. She actually donated it to me (her husband) 5 years ago. And she is the aunt who discussed with Avi his wish to donate.
